Anastasios Boniakos was born in Athens Greece.
He graduated from the 20th High School of Athens with grade "honours” and was admitted to the Medical School of National Kapodistrian University of Athens where he graduated in 1991. He served his military service in Endocrinology in the Department of "Diabetes & Metabolism Endocrinology" under the direction of the late Nikolaos Thalassinos and his team. At the same time, he prepared his thesis at University of Athens and bears the title ‘’ Doctor of Philosophy’’.
He is a member of the Hellenic Endocrinological Society, the Hellenic Society for the Study of Bone Metabolism, the Hellenic Society of Obesity, the EASD (European Association for the Study of Diabetes) and the Endocrine Society.
